> CINEMA PORTUGAL 2006

This's a "cinema portugal 2006" free postcard concerning the different cinema festivals happening all around Portugal in 2006. I don't know who the designer was, but thats awesome work going on there. The concept upon which the type was built on is basically using (supposed to be) old theaters as letterforms. Fantastic.

May the type be with you

> ORNAMENTS & TYPE

These guys are clearly shaping new and fresh type approaches. Mixing ornamental, sometimes hand drawn fluid and organic shapes on top of conventional typefaces makes up for one of the most exciting styles on type compositions nowadays.

I just found out that all the of these were done by the same guy, Si Scott.
Anyway, take a look at his work on these websites.

> BLACKLETTER STENCIL

An attempt on doing a BlackLetter based stencil. The idea was born from a mix between old BlackLetter forms with a geometric / cut / rounded feel.

There are some typefaces with this same concept, Blackhaus is a good example.

> HELLO EVERYONE

ENGLISH

Typography is an Art, Good Typography is Art.
Paul Rand / 1960

Of course we can learn much from the previous century of a huge typographic experimentation, a century still so close we can use, handle and breathe its energy. However this blog will focus it's attention not on the use of old typefaces, but rather on re-finding type as an Art on our daily journeys.

PORTUGUESE

A Tipografia é uma Arte, a Boa Tipografia é Arte
Paul Rand / 1960

Cheers,
